Rumors are circulating that the Nintendo Switch 2 will debut in Europe at a price of €400. This buzz comes alongside chatter about what might be in store for gamers when the console finally launches.
Whispers about the Switch 2 have been steadily growing since late 2024, likely fueled by the device entering mass production around September or October that year. Despite the plethora of leaks focusing on its hardware, a new tidbit emerges spotlighting potential pricing and launch titles.
Over on a popular Nintendo Switch 2 Discord server, a user named DoNotDisturb hinted that French retailer Micromania expects the console to have a price tag of €399. While on the more affordable side of recent predictions, this matches up with several other reports.
### Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Lineup to Feature at Least 25 Games
According to DoNotDisturb’s source, Micromania has allegedly been given a list of 25 games earmarked for the Switch 2 launch. The prices for these games could range between €69 and €79. This pricing may raise eyebrows as Nintendo generally keeps its new AAA games below the $60 / €60 mark, except for titles like “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.” It seems hard to believe that all launch games would uniformly hit the higher price range, matching that of new AAA PS5 games in the region. That said, looking at Micromania’s current pricing patterns shows no obvious markup on Switch games compared to other retailers, suggesting this might not change for the Switch 2 either.
Should DoNotDisturb’s information hold any truth, it’s still uncertain if the list of launch games they’ve shared is exhaustive. Their source also suggested that Nintendo Switch Online subscription fees might climb once the new console launches. While Nintendo has confirmed the Switch 2 will work with NSO, they haven’t touched on any changes in pricing yet.
### Super Mario Galaxy 2 Could Be Getting a Sequel on the Switch 2
Further speculation from the Micromania connection involves the possibility of “Super Mario Galaxy 3” being part of the initial game roster for the Switch 2. Alongside this, the insider predicts that pre-orders for the console will kick off soon. Given that Nintendo has twice said they will announce the Switch 2 by March 31, it’s reasonable to assume pre-orders are just around the corner.
