Intel has made significant strides with its XeSS support, now boasting compatibility with over 150 games, and more titles are expected to embrace this technology soon as XeSS 2 begins to make its entrance.
A key milestone has been reached as Intel expands XeSS support to over 150 titles, although only a few currently utilize XeSS 2. The dynamics are shifting, however, as both XeSS 1 and 2 will soon be integrated into even more games.
Intel took the leap as the pioneer discrete GPU manufacturer introducing its own super-sampling method with the debut of its Arc Alchemist series. Two years have passed since the introduction of XeSS, during which it has evolved through various enhancements leading up to the latest version, XeSS 2.
While the adoption of XeSS 2 remains limited, the initial version, XeSS 1.0, and its subsequent updates have successfully been integrated into a plethora of games. Today, Intel proudly declares that over 150 titles now support XeSS, and the number is set to grow.
If you are curious about which games feature XeSS technology, the list is extensive and includes a variety of popular modern AAA titles. Despite this progress, the competition with AMD’s FSR and NVIDIA’s DLSS remains fierce.
In their celebratory tweet, Intel emphasized the significance of reaching the 150+ game milestone, highlighting the potential for a top-notch gaming experience with Intel XeSS AI upscaling.
Despite the progress, Intel has a considerable journey ahead before it can rival its competitors. Many games currently support XeSS 1 and its subsequent iterations, yet XeSS 2 remains scarce. Presently, only two games, F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals, support XeSS 2. However, anticipation is building as forthcoming releases, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3, are set to incorporate the latest XeSS 2 technology.
Though some games utilize Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation, it’s less widely adopted compared to FSR and DLSS Frame Gen techniques. XeSS 2 and Frame Generation are exclusively compatible with Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPUs, which currently offer the Arc B580 and Arc B570 models, albeit with limited availability on the market.
