Recently, Bossa Games, the gaming studio based in London, announced that it has unfortunately let go of some of its employees. Co-CEO and co-founder Henrique Olifiers took to LinkedIn to share that these job cuts were made in preparation for the launch of their upcoming game, Lost Skies.
Olifiers explained that once Lost Skies is officially released, the studio plans to restructure into smaller teams. This move is intended to facilitate the development and release of more games in the future.
“We made the tough decision to scale back,” Olifiers stated, “so we can concentrate on the final stages of Lost Skies’ development and its launch. Our priority is to ensure that the game is successfully introduced and continues to evolve for our players over time.”
After Lost Skies goes live and enters its operational phase, Bossa plans to revamp its approach. Teams will work independently on innovative game concepts and aim to introduce them to players as quickly as possible.
“This decision means parting ways with incredibly talented and cherished colleagues—truly some of the finest talent in the gaming industry—who have been integral to our journey for so long,” Olifiers expressed. “We had hoped to navigate this challenging period without reducing our team size, but unfortunately, we couldn’t find a feasible solution.”
At the beginning of 2024, Bossa reduced its workforce by about one-third.
