Bandai Namco Entertainment has rolled out a fresh update for Freedom Wars Remastered on the Nintendo Switch, bringing the game up to version 1.4.0. This update targets a slew of bugs, enhancing the gameplay experience significantly.
In particular, players will no longer experience their game freezing up in the multiplayer lobby. That frustrating glitch, where your screen would freeze during matchmaking in private rooms, is now a thing of the past. Plus, those pesky instances of enemy characters dropping the wrong items? They’re gone too. The developers have also tackled repetitive operations that would unintentionally rerun.
For those who haven’t grabbed their copy yet, you can find Freedom Wars Remastered on the Nintendo eShop globally.
Freedom Wars Remastered Update Version 1.4.0 Patch Notes
Bug Fixes
-
Multiplayer Lobby Issues: Players who would find themselves unresponsive if another player joined a lobby after they’d marked themselves as READY will be relieved; this bug’s finally patched.
-
Freezing During Private Matches: If you were hosting a private room and found that ending the matching process would cause your guests’ screens to lock up, that’s been fixed, so no more awkward freezes!
-
Contribution Start Circle Glitch: Previously, if too many players rushed the Contribution Start Circle at once, nobody could go READY. Now, everyone’s pathway to set their status is clear.
-
Unexpected Enemy Item Drops: Enemy characters dropping unworthy items was a buzzkill, but with this fix, the loot tables are back on track.
-
Reinforcements Not Showing Up: Tired of missions stalling out because enemy reinforcements vanished? That glitch has been swept away, ensuring missions can be fully completed.

Natalia’s Confinement Scene: Added her sentence was causing the screen to darken. The mysterious blackout problem is now solved.
-
Repeating Operations: Did some missions seem like they could be replayed infinitely? This was not by design, and those loopholes are now closed.
-
Overcost Augmentations: Ever sneakily equipped something beyond the cost limit? Now the game smartly unequips it for you to maintain fairness.
-
Invisible "Great Criminal" Icon: This icon should now properly display on everyone’s screens, ensuring you’re recognized for your efforts.
-

-
Obstacle Collision Behavior: The awkward staggering while carrying citizens has been condensed, so your pace remains less interrupted during contributions.
-
Heavy Melee Weapon Adjustments: The hitboxes for specific weapon types have been refined to match their animations perfectly, plus power attack dynamics when engaged with the Thorn have been corrected to allow for chargeable attacks.
