Next month marks the arrival of Atomfall on Game Pass, and to whet our appetites, Rebellion has unveiled an enthralling 13-minute gameplay trailer. While we’re eagerly awaiting the list of Atomfall achievements, this video offers a sneak peek into the adventures and challenges awaiting players in this intriguing open world on Xbox.
Rebellion dives straight into the heart of Atomfall’s gameplay, spotlighting key aspects such as exploration, investigation, combat, and survival elements. Set for release on March 27, 2025, Atomfall will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
For those not yet acquainted with Atomfall, it’s an action-survival game heavily inspired by real-world events. The storyline kicks off five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England. Players awaken with no memory inside the quarantine zone. To unravel the mystery at the zone’s center and to navigate this perilous world, you must master scavenging, crafting, bartering, fighting, and negotiation, all set against the backdrop of the British countryside.
The newly released gameplay footage provides a wider look at what players can do in Atomfall, from exploration and detective work to intense combat scenarios. When it comes to exploration and investigation, Rebellion has crafted a world where players have the liberty to determine their paths. Without a traditional quest system, you’ll engage in conversations, conduct research, investigate leads, and adapt to the ever-changing environment to survive and advance. Interestingly, Rebellion reveals that every journey in Atomfall is part of an intricate web of stories; following one lead can potentially alter or close off other quest lines as the game progresses.
