Analogue has recently shared some disappointing news for retro gaming enthusiasts: the highly anticipated Analogue 3D console will now hit the market in July 2025, instead of early next year as initially planned. This console, a modern take on the classic Nintendo 64, aims to give fans an authentic experience, promising full compatibility with the entire N64 game library.
The Analogue 3D was first introduced in October 2024, and it comes with a price tag of $249.99. It will be offered in both black and white versions. Additionally, 8BitDo is gearing up to release their official 64 Bluetooth Controller, which will be available separately for $39.99 on Amazon. Enthusiasm for the Analogue 3D was evident when initial pre-orders sold out almost instantly last year. However, those eager to relive their nostalgic gaming moments will need a little more patience due to this latest shipping delay.
Confirmed by Analogue on Twitter, the shipping delay pushes the release to July 2025. For those who secured a pre-order, there’s nothing to worry about as their orders are still in place. The company assures a straightforward cancellation policy with full refunds available. Despite this, the reaction online is somewhat divided, mainly because Analogue hasn’t released any in-action footage of the device. Many fans are left wondering how well the console will handle their beloved N64 games.
Upon its release, the Analogue 3D promises to be a piece of tech magic, handling every Nintendo 64 game without the need for emulation, thanks to its cartridge-compatible hardware. It’s set to offer gameplay in stunning 4K, support up to four classic N64 controllers at once, and provide multiple connectivity options including USB and Bluetooth. Adding to the nostalgia, it integrates Memory Pak and Expansion Pak features. Each console will come equipped with an HDMI cable, a USB cable, and a USB-C power supply.
While there isn’t any opportunity to grab a fresh Analogue 3D at the moment, the company has restocked its popular Analogue Pocket handheld in white. This handy device can play games from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and SEGA’s Game Gear. The black model and its accessories are also still available on the Analogue website for anyone interested.
In an interesting side note, for those who simply can’t wait for their N64 fix, there’s good news—a classic N64 title has been polished up and released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, offering revamped graphics, improved gameplay, and the welcome return of some cherished features.
