Back in July, the virtual reality game ‘Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable’ made its debut on Quest in Early Access mode. At that point, gamers could tackle just a single mission, or ‘chapter,’ and unlock a few different blades. This was just the start, with promises of more content to come in the following months. True to their word, the developers at UNIVRS have now rolled out the ‘Complete Edition,’ which introduces four chapters in total.
Reflecting on my initial experience in July, the game seemed to me like a promising yet incomplete venture—it almost felt like a tech demo. While it showcased some of its core gameplay mechanics, it was restricted to a solitary chapter with an additional mode featuring endless waves and a scoreboard.
Fast forward to the Complete Edition, and there’s plenty more to explore. Players can now dive into chapters three and four, as well as an Epilogue, taking on the formidable Armored Titan boss. A fun addition this time around is the chance to play in co-op mode, letting you and a friend take on all the chapters together.
With the full release, there’s also an exciting teaser from UNIVRS: a ‘Thunder Spear Unlock Event’ slated for January, dubbed as a “global challenge” by the team. They’ve also mentioned a free update planned for 2025, according to details on the game’s site.
While my initial experience with the game earlier this year left me feeling it was a bit “rough around the edges,” it’s clear that the game has struck a chord with its audience. As of right now, it holds a commendable 4.5 out of 5 user rating in the Horizon Store.
For those who already own the Early Access version, Part 2 comes as a complimentary download. New players can jump in by purchasing Part 1 for $8, Part 2 for $12 (with Part 1 needed first), or snagging Parts 1 and 2 bundled together for $20. This game is compatible with Quest 2, Quest 3/S, and Quest Pro.
