Yesterday marked the opening of orders for Bigscreen’s latest innovation, the Beyond 2 PC VR headset, which promises an enhanced field of view and clarity, thanks to its revolutionary pancake lens design. This eagerly awaited device has already surpassed expectations, outpacing the original Beyond in sales within just 10 hours of its release.
Taking to social media platform X, Bigscreen shared updates about the overwhelming response from PC VR enthusiasts towards Beyond 2. “In the first 25 minutes alone, Beyond 2 surpassed the entire first day sales of Beyond 1. Within an hour, we had already doubled those initial launch day numbers,” the company excitedly reported.
As the day unfolded, more details emerged about the robust sales performance of both the Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking variant, the Beyond 2e. The numbers were indeed impressive. “After just 10 hours since launch, Beyond 2 did what took Beyond 1 four months to achieve in sales,” the latest update revealed.
Currently, both Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e are projected to ship in June 2025, as the initial batches set for April and May have already been snapped up, escalating the hype surrounding these headsets.
So, what has captured everyone’s attention about the Beyond 2? The easy upgrade path crafted by Bigscreen might have something to do with it. Original Beyond users enjoy a discounted update price of $849 for the Beyond 2 and $1049 for the Beyond 2e. Plus, it remains compatible with many Beyond 1 accessories, including the essential custom facial interface.
The Beyond 2 also introduces a slew of upgrades, such as a wider 116-degree diagonal field of view, an adjustable IPD mechanism, and an impressively lightweight design at 107 grams. The Beyond 2e model takes it a step further by integrating AI-powered eye-tracking technology. Though it shares the dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays with its predecessor, the updated lenses significantly enhance clarity and field of view.
With price points set at $1,019 for Beyond 2 and $1,219 for Beyond 2e—alongside discounts for existing Beyond 1 users—these headsets were launched in tandem with a new halo-style mount and a Lightblocker facial interface, scheduled for availability in Q3 2025.
