Treyarch has just announced that Double XP is making its way back to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on December 13. This date is expected to be quite significant for the game, especially since it’s close on the heels of the last Double XP event.
Since Black Ops 6 hit the shelves, we’ve seen a slew of Double XP events, letting dedicated players level up faster on their journey to becoming Prestige Masters. But it’s not all been smooth sailing—many players have encountered issues with the XP rates. There have been plenty of complaints about the XP multiplier delivering less than the promised 2x boost, often hovering below the 1.5x mark. The problems were still lingering during the latest event, so fingers crossed that Treyarch has managed to iron out these glitches this time.
According to a tweet from Treyarch, December 13 will see a host of XP bonuses turned on—Double XP, Double Weapon XP, Double Battle Pass XP, and Double GobbleGum Earn Rate will all be activated. This coincides with the launch of Black Ops 6’s multiplayer and Zombies free trial, giving newcomers a chance to catch up with seasoned players at a quicker pace. However, as of now, Treyarch hasn’t specified how long this Double XP binge will last.
The previous Double XP event ran from November 27 to December 1, meaning there’s a mere 12-day gap until the next one. Treyarch seems to be quite liberal with these events lately. This strategy undoubtedly keeps players returning throughout the year, especially those who hop back into the game during these enticing events. With the holiday season in full swing, it’s a smart move to have Double XP return so quickly.
Call of Duty games typically enjoy a 12-month life cycle, so Black Ops 6 is still in its early days. Treyarch has already packed the game with content, highlighted by the recent Season 1 Reloaded update, with more to come. There’s even a whisper about a classic map from the original Black Ops making a comeback in Black Ops 6. While nothing is confirmed, it would be a treat for fans to revisit some of the iconic past maps in this new installment.
In the bigger picture, Black Ops 6 is crafted by Treyarch and Raven and set against the intriguing backdrop of the early ’90s—a time of significant global changes with the Cold War concluding and the United States emerging as a sole superpower. The campaign promises to be a thrilling spy adventure with dynamic gameplay and epic set pieces, providing players with an action-packed experience that’s jam-packed with thrills.
Black Ops 6’s multiplayer is another jewel in its crown, offering 16 new maps at launch. Players can dive into the fan-favorite Round-Based Zombies mode on two new maps, with even more content to look forward to, both in multiplayer and zombies post-launch.
For those eager to join the action, Black Ops 6 became available across multiple platforms on October 25, 2024, complete with cross-play capabilities and a rich multiplayer experience. Whether you’re teaming up online or diving into the campaign, Black Ops 6 offers a robust outing for fans of the series.
