Just a short time has passed since Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hit the shelves, but that hasn’t stopped it from diving headfirst into its first season of post-launch content. Already in full swing, Season 1 has brought players brand-new multiplayer maps, diverse game modes, and fresh Call of Duty: Warzone content. Unlike last year’s Modern Warfare 3, this time around, Black Ops 6 is giving its Zombies mode plenty of love and attention.
Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has introduced the much-anticipated Directed Mode for Zombies. This feature offers newcomers a more linear pathway to unlock the main Easter eggs in Terminus and Liberty Falls. And the upcoming mid-season update promises even more. Players can look forward to an array of new additions, chief among them being the Citadelle des Morts map, which brings its unique Wonder Weapon and a new enemy type. But the surprises don’t end there. According to the official roadmap, Season 1’s Zombies mode will also welcome “an additional Perk-a-Cola.” This mysterious phrasing suggests the return of a classic Perk rather than a new introduction, and there are several fan-favorites that could make a comeback.
In recent weeks, a flurry of leaks has emerged, hinting at the possible new Perks coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies. However, fans should approach these rumors with a healthy dose of skepticism, as these might represent content cut from the final release. Nonetheless, the buzz revolves around five potential Perks: Vulture Aid, Double Tap, Mule Kick, Death Perception, and Tombstone.
Vulture Aid, first seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, has only made a single appearance in the Zombies world, despite its useful abilities. In its debut, it allowed players to identify wall weapons, the Pack-a-Punch machine, and the Mystery Box through walls. Occasionally, zombies would drop small ammo pouches, bonus points, and green gas clouds enabling temporary concealment from enemies.
Double Tap has been a Zombies staple, though it’s been absent since Black Ops 3. The early version of Double Tap boosted the player’s rate-of-fire, while the improved 2.0 version in Black Ops 2 and 3 doubled a weapon’s firepower without extra ammo cost. Mule Kick is another classic, granting players the ability to carry a third weapon.
Death Perception, while a newer addition, is often viewed as one of the weaker Perks. It merely allows players to spot zombies through walls. On the other hand, Tombstone divides player opinion but is undeniably more practical, as it lets players retrieve their Perks and weapons upon dying.
The latest Zombies Perk is set to be added to Liberty Falls and Terminus through the Wunderfizz machine, although only one Perk is earmarked for Black Ops 6 Zombies in Season 1. While a return of Vulture Aid would be enthusiastically welcomed, the more strategic options like Double Tap and Mule Kick might prove more beneficial as the new Season 1 Perk.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 doesn’t just stop at thrilling gameplay. Developed by Treyarch and Raven, the game is a riveting spy action thriller pulling players into the early 90s, a time marked by global shifts and the end of the Cold War. The campaign is packed with dynamic experiences, from intense heists to secretive spy operations.
The multiplayer mode remains top-tier, with players testing their skills across 16 fresh maps, including 12 core 6v6 and 4 Strike maps for smaller skirmishes. Black Ops 6 also heralds the noteworthy return of Round-Based Zombies, offering fans two new maps at launch, with more exciting content lined up for both Multiplayer and Zombies post-launch.
Released on October 25, 2024, the game continues to offer exemplary features across platforms, maintaining its reputation for robust and diverse gameplay experiences.
