The Molasses Flood, a game development studio based in Boston, has officially joined forces with the renowned Polish gaming company, CD Projekt Red.
This announcement was made through a post on The Molasses Flood’s website. As of April 1st, the studio has seamlessly integrated into the Cyberpunk 2077 creator’s operations. Despite this merger, The Molasses Flood reassured fans that its previous titles, The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, will remain unaffected after their acquisition by CD Projekt in 2021. Currently, the team is focusing their efforts on Project Sirius, a multiplayer game set in The Witcher universe.
In related news, Damian Isla, the founder of The Molasses Flood, has decided to step away from the company.
In a heartfelt post on LinkedIn, he reflected on the change. “This is undeniably a significant shift,” he expressed. “For over a decade, TMF has been a major chapter in my life. I’m genuinely proud of what we achieved, especially considering the challenging market that often isn’t kind to smaller teams like ours. We’ve created some wonderful, unique, and memorable projects. More importantly, I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with some of the most talented, kind-hearted, and generous individuals in the industry.”
