PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are in for a delightful surprise this year. As it currently stands, gamers can look forward to four exciting titles joining the service’s Game Catalog perk, arriving as soon as they launch. Among these is Remedy Entertainment’s highly anticipated multiplayer first-person shooter, FBC: Firebreak, which has unveiled a new release window, aiming for the summer of 2025.
FBC: Firebreak is staged within The Oldest House, the enigmatic headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, famously featured in the critically acclaimed game Control. In a departure from their usual lore-rich narratives, Remedy Entertainment is switching gears, emphasizing gameplay in this release. They’re also venturing into the realm of live-service gaming with a refreshing twist—steering clear of the fear-of-missing-out features that are typically synonymous with the genre. Impressively, all playable content will be accessible for free, designed so players can engage at their own pace.
In a newly released trailer, we get a look at the Paper Chase Job, just one of the many intriguing missions in FBC: Firebreak. This particular mission sees the Firebreak Initiative tasked with purging a section of The Oldest House that’s crawling with unruly sticky notes. The trailer also gives us a glance at the various loadouts players will employ to tackle the Hiss threat.
Upon its release, FBC: Firebreak will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PCs through the Epic Games Store and Steam.
This game is just the beginning—three more titles will enhance the Game Catalog at launch. Announcements have also spotlighted Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor. Notably, the first chapter of Lost Records is already accessible for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, with the follow-up part set to debut next month.
In addition to these new games, PS Plus members can also enjoy early access to the PS Store’s Spring Sale. This means subscribers can snag great discounts on popular games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 right now.
