In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players step into a world of fantasy adventure with a band of eccentric companions—let’s be honest, they’re a quirky bunch. It’s a bit reminiscent of Baldur’s Gate 3, another title where you and your oddball allies dive into fantastical escapades. But here’s the kicker: thanks to a creative modder, you can now mix a bit of that BG3 flair into your Veilguard experience by adding some unique facial tattoos to your Rook.
Now, don’t panic—it won’t be as cringeworthy as some of the mods we’ve seen featuring random scribbles on Solas’ face. Unless, of course, you’re into sporting cryptic forehead messages.
This cool crossover comes courtesy of modder ShadyKnight, who aptly named their creation “Astarion Would Be Proud.” Aptly titled, because it lets you swap out nearly all of the default tattoos in Veilguard with those from BG3. The modder mentioned, “It’s not 100% perfect yet, but I’m satisfied enough to post it.” Gotta love that confidence.
The selection covers all your classic favorites: face paint that’ll take you back to those kids’ birthday parties, menacing neck doodles, and chin designs that look like you’re rocking a trendy trickle. Fancy something unique? How about three cheeky birds on your face to show off your love for nature? Oh, and there’s even some clown-inspired makeup for the bold!
Choosing one of these tattoos is sure to evoke fond memories of your BG3 adventures. Picture this: you’re in the middle of a heartfelt chat with one of Veilguard’s particularly amiable party members when you catch a glimpse of your Rook’s tattoo. Suddenly, you’re whisked back to that time Astarion got a bit too cheeky, or when Lae’zel accidentally torched the camp in a fiery spat.
Shifting gears to the latest Veilguard update, the game just rolled out its third patch. While it’s a minor update, it brings a few quality-of-life improvements to features like photo mode and the user interface. Plus, it fixes quirks like the “odd facial expression when Rook first meets Emmrich.”
I must admit, I’m a bit bummed about losing that last one; it probably added some unintentional comic relief.
