Currently, Stalker 2 is facing a handful of bugs, but the developers over at GSC Game World have announced there’s a patch on the horizon that should address some of these issues.
The game hit the shelves earlier this week, but it wasn’t without its hiccups. Despite the rocky start, our own Connor gave it a favorable review. Other opinions have been a mixed bag, yet Stalker 2 has been holding strong on Steam’s charts. Modders have already jumped in to tackle the stuttering problems, and relief is in sight with an official update coming soon. GSC Game World has stated on the game’s Steam page that their first post-launch patch will be released in the upcoming week.
In a recent post, the developers said, “The game has been out for several days now (it’s still surreal to say that), and we’ve been following your feedback in all possible forms carefully. To the more than one million stalkers in the Zone, thanks for playing — that means the world to us. We are sure you have things to handle in the Zone, but so do we.” Although this message doesn’t delve into each specific bug, it does provide a broad outlook of what the patch aims to fix.
Notably, they are working on resolving crash issues related to memory allocation errors. They’ll also be tightening up the main story progressions to deal with bugs that make NPCs get stuck or display incorrect quest markers. Expect gameplay tweaks concerning NPC behavior, adjustments to weapon prices, and some cutscene and visual improvements. There are a few more details in the mix, but you can check those out on your own.
Also noteworthy, they’ve made a point to mention other issues slated for future patches, such as correcting dead zones in analog sticks. Moreover, many players have flagged concerns with the A-Life system, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for fixes in that area. For now, patience is key until further updates roll out.
