Halfbrick Studios, teaming up with Ian Fitz, the mastermind behind the original 2016 hit, has just dropped the highly anticipated sequel to their beloved boxing simulation. Fans can now dive into The Thrill of the Fight 2, currently available on Quest through Early Access.
This sequel offers a fresh take on the original, making its debut on various Quest headsets, including the Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Quest Pro. What sets this installment apart is its addition of online multiplayer PvP boxing, a feature that many players have been eagerly awaiting.
In this initial early access phase, players can exclusively enjoy multiplayer bouts, bringing an exciting social aspect to the experience. Halfbrick Studios explains, “We’re focusing on delivering a seamless online gameplay experience right from the start. Rest assured, single-player content and enhanced multiplayer features are in the pipeline, set to roll out gradually during the early access period.”
The development team plans to work on the game into 2025, introducing single-player content that includes smart AI competitors with adaptable skills and appearances, along with various training modes. Throughout early access, players can expect a continuous stream of updates aimed at enriching both the content and realism of the game.
Currently, players can dive into customizable avatars and engage in online PvP mode, which features skill-based matchmaking. The game promises a highly authentic boxing experience, largely thanks to its realistic physics.
Adding to the fun is a spectator camera feature, which gives viewers a chance to feel like they’re watching a live sports broadcast on a connected PC, enhancing the social aspect of the game.
If you’re ready to step into the ring, The Thrill of the Fight 2 is available now on the Horizon Store for just $10.
