Inin Games, known for its love of retro games, has now secured the publishing rights for Shenmue 3. This acquisition comes on the heels of their collaboration with YsNet, the developers of the game, on the project Air Twister.
Shenmue 3, a long-awaited chapter in the renowned Shenmue saga, hit the shelves in 2019 four years after its 2015 announcement. Initially, the publishing duties were managed by Deep Silver.
In a statement from Inin Games, the company expressed their enthusiasm: “We are truly honored to take up the mantle for Shenmue during such a pivotal time in the series’ saga.”
Reflecting on Shenmue’s rich history, they added, “As we look back on two decades filled with groundbreaking moments and sheer passion, we pledge to continue sharing Ryo Hazuki’s adventures with both loyal followers and new players alike.”
The statement also hinted at future developments: “With this transition, the Shenmue story is far from reaching its conclusion. We have some thrilling plans in the works to mark these milestones, ensuring this cherished series continues to captivate and inspire.
