Cattle Call is gearing up to bring us the Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. This developer has made a name for themselves with titles like The Legend of Legacy, The Alliance Alive, Metal Max Xeno, and Dungeon Encounters.
Set in the enchanting world of Luxendarc, this beloved RPG unfolds in a land where four elemental crystals are the guardians of peace and equilibrium. Yet, when darkness unexpectedly rises from the Great Chasm, it’s up to the Warriors of Light to embark on a heroic journey to fend off impending disaster.
Teaming up with Agnès Oblige, the dedicated vestal of the Wind Crystal, players will also step into the shoes of Tiz Arrior, the compassionate shepherd and lone survivor of the catastrophe that demolished his village. Alongside them is Edea Lee, the spirited daughter of Eternia’s grand marshal, and Ringabel, a young man without memories but with a journal that hints at the future. Don’t forget Airy, the cryst-fairy, as you strive to restore the crystals’ light and bring peace back to the world.
With its captivating narrative, unforgettable characters crafted by Akihiko Yoshida (known for his work on Final Fantasy Tactics and NieR:Automata), and a sweeping soundtrack by Revo, the HD remaster promises updated graphics and fresh content. Square Enix boasts this release as a perfect venture for long-standing fans and newcomers wanting to dive into the captivating realm of Luxendarc.
The game offers some enticing features:
High-Definition Graphics: The visuals have received a fantastic upgrade, delivering stunning clarity with a new, polished sheen that makes the warm, storybook style visuals more breathtaking than ever.
Enhanced User Interface: Originally designed for the dual-screen of the 3DS, the layout has been redesigned for a single screen experience. It also brings quality-of-life improvements such as a ‘Heal All’ button and suggested character levels for dungeons.
Fast Forward Gameplay: Adjust the game speed according to your style. Battles can accelerate up to four times faster, and the narrative scenes can also zoom by at double speed with autoplay.
Customizable Encounter Rates: As in the original, adjust the random encounter rates between 50% and 200%, anytime, while you’re on the field. Whether you prefer cautious exploration or diving into endless skirmishes, the choice is yours.
Online Features: The original networking tools have been revamped to take advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2’s robust network. Team up with friends or take on the challenge solo — it’s your call.
Brand New Minigames: Take a breather with two fresh minigames. Enjoy these to earn bonuses, which include new entries in D’s Journal that reveal new layers of the story.
