Christopher Judge, who voices Kratos, recently stirred up some buzz by hinting at a possible God of War announcement. However, it turns out there actually isn’t one on the horizon. It’s hard to believe, but it’s been a couple of years since God of War Ragnarok was released. Inevitably, this has fans itching for the next installment from Santa Monica Studio. There hasn’t been any official news, but last week, Judge fueled rumors by hosting an Instagram live session. During this, he hinted at announcements over the next couple of weeks, specifically something major on December 1st. His words were, “The next two weeks are gonna be chock-full of announcements and all kinds of good stuff,” and he added, “December 1st, we will be making a major announcement – which I can’t wait to do ’cause a lot of you asked me: ‘What’s coming next?'”
Naturally, fans took this to mean that something related to God of War might be in the works, even though Judge hadn’t mentioned the game directly. But soon, it became clear that the announcements aren’t connected to the series. Judge took to Twitter to clear up the misinterpretation. Quoting a tweet about his earlier comments, he stated, “Absolutely not true! You can’t tease something you know nothing about. I will be making announcements in the near future,” he affirmed, adding, “I can guarantee none of them will be about OUR beloved God of War. I am awaiting updates just like everyone else.”
So yes, while there are announcements on the way from Judge, they aren’t about Kratos or the God of War series. Fans of Christopher Judge will have something to look forward to, but unfortunately, God of War enthusiasts will have to sit tight with nothing new at the moment. Maybe it’s time for a replay of the classics in the meantime, but hey, no pressure from me!
