Overwatch 2 has introduced a new mode called Stadium, and I have to admit, I’m hooked.
This exciting mode spans up to seven rounds, where players engage in various matches using a select portion of the main Overwatch roster. The twist? You earn cash in each round, which can be spent on items, giving it a MOBA-like vibe.
What makes this mode stand out is the assortment of items, powers, and passives that combine and complement one another, making Overwatch 2 feel refreshingly different. Adding to the fun, it also includes third-person gameplay.
If you’re just diving into Stadium mode, you might find it daunting to sift through the extensive list of Overwatch 2 perks and abilities. I’ve browsed through several online “best build” guides for Moira and found them lacking. So, I came up with my own Moira build, complete with tips on using it, and I promise it’s a game-changer.
Best Overwatch 2 Stadium Moira Powers
Swipe to explore:
-
Round 1: Cross-Orbal
Launches an additional Biotic Orb of the opposite type at 50% reduced capacity. -
Round 3: Multiball
Releases two extra orbs of the chosen type with 85% reduced effectiveness. -
Round 5: Optimal Overflow
Spend 50 Biotic Energy to launch the last selected Biotic Orb with 75% reduced duration. - Round 7: Phantasm
Using Fade spawns a stationary copy of the last selected Biotic Orb with 50% reduced duration.
Moira, known for her villainous support role, is almost infamous for acting like a damage dealer. Her orbs and Biotic Grasp abilities are perfect for those of us without top-notch aiming skills, thanks to their area-of-effect potential. Especially on consoles, you can increase joystick turn speed without losing accuracy, unlike with hitscan heroes.
Ultimately, she’s a support class, so this build is designed to balance both support and damage roles beautifully.
The strategy is simple: spam Biotic Orbs liberally. The initial upgrade lets you heal while dealing damage to opponents. Further upgrades allow you to unleash more orbs, effective for healing and dealing damage, especially in areas with corridors and choke points. Fire four orbs at squishy DPS or support heroes for a devastating effect, then vanish with Fade for one more hit.
The items also make this build even more formidable, boosting ability power, and extending orb range.

-
Nano Cola
+20% Ability Power.
Boosts Orb damage and healing, essential to Moira’s toolkit. -
Smart Orbs
+5% Ability Power, orbs move 50% slower while active.
Ideal for tracking foes and allies, but can be tricky for distant targets. -
Extendrils
+10% Ability Power, +30% orb range.
Greater reach means more impact. -
Champion’s Kit
+40% Ability Power.
Expensive, but stacking can lead to +100% ability power. It’s thrilling. - Liquid Nitrogen
+25 Health, +10% Ability Power, slows target’s move speed by 20% for 3 seconds.
Paired with Smart Orbs, it keeps attackers in check—it’s incredibly powerful and likely in line for a nerf.
All these items focus on amplifying Moira’s ability power, which is crucial for both damage and healing. While these core items are vital, feel free to customize further based on your playstyle.
Once you’ve enhanced Moira’s multiball potential, target weaker opponents and bombard them head-on. The slower orbs from Smart Orbs are excellent for plucking heroes like Mercy or Juno from the air. As your healing orbs accompany you, they assist allied DPS while you go on the offensive. Adding Liquid Nitrogen with Smart Orbs applies a slowing effect to enemies like Genji and Cassidy, considerably hindering them. This combo is hilariously powerful right now, though it might not stay that way.
Stacking multiple Ability +% items will sustain your damage and healing throughout the match, with Moira’s ultimate becoming devastatingly lethal. Launch a death ball, follow it with four more, and activate your ultimate for potentially team-wiping outcomes.
Overwatch 2 Stadium is an Unexpected Delight
Between rounds, you get the chance to explore a variety of powers and items, adding a layer of strategy. This new mode might be the most exciting experience I’ve had with Overwatch 2 in quite some time. It cleverly enhances the game’s core perk systems, offering the customization fans missed from the canceled Story Mode.
Balance may take some time; I’ve found myself nearly unstoppable with Moira and Mei, while heroes like Ashe could use some love at the moment. However, the potential is undeniable. Overwatch 2 continues to deliver joy to its community, even years after its release.
Stadium Mode is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC.
