Sony has just unveiled its yearly rundown of the most downloaded titles across its PlayStation platforms for 2024. It’s not exactly shocking to see that the PSVR 2 hasn’t experienced a massive shake-up from its debut year.
Almost two years have passed since the PSVR 2 hit the market. Some critics argue that Sony dropped the ball post its February 2023 launch, citing a notable lack of exclusive titles and strong developer backing, reminiscent of the support seen with the original PSVR. However, hardcore fans of the device might beg to differ.
The capabilities of the PSVR 2 are quite commendable. It enables developers to enhance both rendering resolutions and visual intricacies beyond what Meta’s powerhouse, the Quest 3, offers. Furthermore, you can dive into PC VR experiences, courtesy of Sony’s wired adapter released last June. Yet, the real test lies in what games users are flocking to on the PlayStation Store, which is where these download stats come in.
Taking a look at the chart below, we’ve added the original release dates for context:
### PSVR 2 Top Downloads 2024
#### US/Canada | EU
– Beat Saber (2018) | Beat Saber (2018)
– Among Us VR (2022) | Pavlov (2023)
– Pavlov (2023) | Arizona Sunshine 2 (2023)

– Swordsman VR (2020) | Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition (2019)
– Metro Awakening (2024) | Legendary Tales (2024)
The hugely popular Beat Saber has once again topped the charts in both North America and Europe. This legendary VR rhythm game remains a staple recommendation for newcomers to the platform.
New to the list are a couple of 2024 releases. Vertigo Games dropped Metro Awakening in November, which understandably didn’t have much leeway to make a significant impact. Similarly, Urban Wolf Games’ Legendary Tales went live with its 1.0 release in February after building momentum in Steam’s Early Access.
In fairness, Vertigo Games’ highly anticipated Arizona Sunshine 2 made its appearance in December 2023, giving it a slim window to climb rankings for that year.
Familiar faces abound in these lists. For a walk down memory lane, take a glance at the PSVR 2’s top download stats from 2023, highlighting its almost complete maiden year post-launch in February of that year:
