This Week’s eShop Highlights: SNES Classics, Kirby Tunes, Sales, and More

This week, the Nintendo Switch eShop is buzzing with excitement as it welcomes a fresh batch of classic SNES games, some new tunes for the Nintendo Music app, enticing sales, and a slew of new game releases.

The Nintendo Switch Online collection has grown a bit larger, showcasing four new titles from Koei’s golden era on the SNES. First up, we have "Nobunaga’s Ambition" and "Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness," originally launched in 1993 and 1994. These games transport you to Japan’s chaotic Sengoku period, where you aim to reunite the region’s many factions.

Next, we journey to ancient China with "Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire," a turn-based strategy game from 1994 that breathes life into the classic Chinese epic.

Rounding off this geographical expedition with Koei is "Uncharted Waters: New Horizons," a 1993 game set in Europe. It invites players to navigate uncharted seas and engage in trade and discovery.

The Nintendo Music app is also getting a tune-up this week with 23 tracks from "Kirby and the Forgotten Land." It’s a curious decision to release only part of the soundtrack, leaving fans wondering when the rest of the tracks will drop.

The game adds layers of cultural and technological complexity—collect and gift tea items to boost your generals’ intellect through tea ceremonies. You can also elevate your domain’s technological prowess, crafting rifles and warships to give you an edge. Available on March 28, this game supports up to eight players with a single Joy-Con.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire – This title takes you to the Second Han Dynasty, where power struggles and battles are the norm in the Three Kingdoms era. As a ruler, it’s up to you to unify China, whether through military expansion or tactical diplomacy. Don’t forget: your kingdom’s strength is built not just on warfare but also on economic strength and public contentment. Look for it on March 28, supporting up to eight players with a Joy-Con.

Uncharted Waters: New Horizons – Set during the Age of Discovery in the 16th century, this game lets you choose from six characters, each with unique backgrounds and goals. Explore over 130 destinations, collect treasures, and manage a fleet to adventure across the globe. This title also joins the eShop lineup on March 28, allowing up to eight players with one Joy-Con.

A New and Noteworthy World – The beloved Kirby returns with 23 tracks from "Kirby and the Forgotten Land," now available on the Nintendo Music app. With tunes like “Running Through the New World” and “Moonlight Canyon,” you can soundtrack your adventures.
