Vampire Survivors has just dropped a new roadmap that’s got fans buzzing with curiosity. Instead of the usual detailed notes from its developer and publisher, Poncle, players are treated to a brief, galaxy-like video. This visual showcases both current and future updates, stirring excitement and speculation within the community.
After its official launch in October 2022, Poncle has continually refreshed Vampire Survivors’ gameplay. They’ve rolled out six paid DLC expansions, new characters, weapons, and stages. Their most recent addition, the Ode to Castlevania DLC, launched in late October 2024. It introduced over 20 characters from the beloved Castlevania series and more than 40 fresh weapon types.
The latest roadmap is anything but straightforward. It highlights content like Ode to Castlevania and features a character called Hammer. Fans will also notice references to past updates, such as May’s Operation Guns DLC with its Contra-theme and February’s Space 54 update. However, some entries, like Pyroclasm, West Woods, House, and Final Flight, remain mysterious. It’s unclear if these are stages, updates, or something entirely new. The game’s social media team is encouraging fans to piece together this puzzle.
Poncle seems to be having some fun with this elusive presentation. Through a Twitter post, they wished players “good luck working out what’s next” and engaged in playful banter with fans guessing future updates. They confirmed there won’t be any actual vampires making an appearance in the game but entertained the idea of a Dance Dance Revolution mat version, calling it “pretty epic.” What we do know from their social media interactions is that more achievements are planned.
This isn’t the first time Vampire Survivors has piqued players’ curiosity with a less-than-linear roadmap. Back in December 2023, a similar swirling, albeit static roadmap, listed forthcoming updates. Some of those have now made it to the 2024 list, pulling fans along for what’s next in this unfolding narrative.
