Today marks an exciting milestone as the Video Game History Foundation rolls out the early access phase of its digital library for research enthusiasts. Upon launch, this extensive library already boasts over 1,500 text-searchable magazines related to video gaming, many of which are out-of-print and hard to find. This rich trove also includes exclusive game development materials, artworks, press kits, promotional content, and much more that were previously unavailable to the general public.
If you’re eager to dive in, you can explore the library by visiting Library.GameHistory.Org.
Leading the debut are two standout collections: the Mark Flitman collection and the Cyan collection. We at NWR had the privilege of previewing a part of the Mark Flitman collection while working on our 30th anniversary Star Fox documentary, alongside our detailed exploration of Dylan Cuthbert’s Eclipse demo. Both projects were created in partnership with the Video Game History Foundation. On the other hand, the Cyan collection offers an impressive look at over 100 hours of footage related to the production of the Myst series.
