Canadian studio Worlds Untold recently announced that it’s temporarily halting operations. Reflecting on this development through a post on LinkedIn, the team shared that they’re currently on the lookout for a new partner. The studio came into the limelight in November 2023, led by BioWare’s seasoned expert, Mac Walters. Initially, they had the backing of Chinese games giant NetEase, and we’ve reached out to understand the current status of that partnership.
In their heartfelt LinkedIn message, Worlds Untold stated, “This decision wasn’t made lightly—it’s been a profoundly personal journey, and we’re immensely proud of what our team has accomplished together.”
The post went on to explain that while their operations are on hold, their talented team members are open to exploring new opportunities. “If anyone is in need of passionate, skilled professionals, please get in touch. I’d be honored to introduce you to some of the most remarkable people I’ve worked with.”
Acknowledging the somber nature of this pause, they expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from partners, friends, and family. Even though this is a challenging time, the studio emphasized that this isn’t goodbye. They hinted at exciting future developments, promising to share the next chapter when the timing is right.
